What You Need To Hear About Home Theater Speakers

By Roger Gray

What is the purpose of speakers in a home theater? If you said, 'they give the sound,' you'd be correct - but what you might not know is that speakers pick up the electronic signal on the movies and play it as sounds you can understand. For music CDs, the concept is the same. It reads the signal.

Like you hear in the movies in the theater, you want speakers that can read signals. If you want your home to get that theater experience, you'll need decent home theater speakers. These 2 factors, where you've set up your home theater and whether your room is too large for the speakers you've chosen, is where choosing these components will depend on.

If the speakers are not compatible with a large space, then the sound will be swallowed up. Speakers need to be heard before you bring them home.

Regardless of how good it looked on the box, the power of the sound you're looking to get may not be delivered. Before you make your final decision, do a listening test on more than one speaker.

Don't be afraid to test out the speakers before you buy them. Move on if you get salespeople who try to push you into buying speakers without testing them. It's their job to sell but you don't want to fork over money for a product that's going to be with for a long time only to find out that you hate the quality because the sound isn't up to par.

Also don't be suckered into buying just because the speakers carry a brand name. Unless the company is tops in the acoustics department, they won't know how to design the best speakers.

If you can help it, don't orphan component parts of your good system if it produces what you're looking for. Created to work together to give you the most out of your home theater are the electronic parts within the same family. That's why it's better to get the speakers in the same brand.

It's also important to be happy with the way speakers look. If you get speakers that can deliver a monster sound but really do have a monstrous appearance, you won't be happy. If you can't tolerate the way they look and you stuff them in a home entertainment system to hide them from view then you've defeated the purpose of having them because you've muffled the sound.

What is the ideal amount to spend on speakers? When you've figured out the total amount you want to spend on a home system, half of that amount is what you should spend on speakers.

Your Home Theater Projector

By Paige Thompson

Thanks to the home theater projector, creating your own home theater system is easier than before. Usually, people setting up a home theater start with a TV that's not that good for movie viewing.

Then, the makers of television sets had several brilliant ideas. Evolving from small, square black and white sets to big screens to huge plasmas are televisions. Each time technology advances, our viewing options become better.

Taking advantage of these technology are people, and this happens when they buy television sets. But when it comes to using a television, there's still a problem.

Limited to what you see is the view the size of the screen can hold. It's limited even if you can have a movie theater experience. Limits are something you don't want to have. What you want is the total package and your viewing experience to be larger than ordinary.

With a home theater projector, you can remove the limitations of viewing through television. That same thrill of being at the movie theater can be harnessed with your projector and it's convenient and easy.

Do you remember the old slide projectors. Mental image of embarrassing vacation slides is what's being shown. Bulky and difficult to handle are these projectors.

But due to customer demand projectors underwent many changes from the originals. Something easy to use and combined with technology is something customers wanted especially those who work and need portable projectors to present their ideas.

A similar design concept is the home theater projector although you don't need to sit nearby to click a button and you don't have to manually input things. You can change the color, the mode and even freeze the image.

What qualities should you look for now that you know you have a projector? If you have a summer vacation home and you want to take it with you, choose a lightweight model. When it comes to projectors today, they don't have to be back breakers. Plus, you want a projector that doesn't require you to spend all your vacation just setting it up!

Before you buy, check out contrast ration and pixel ratio or density. High definition viewers should know that because of the signal, pixel density is different. Going together to bring you the best image are the color and brightness.
